The Cultural Bridging Host Project will offer newcomers the opportunity to be matched up with a volunteer host that will be there own personal buddy. Their host will be there to provide friendship and support and will help them adjust in a more personal and friendly way into our community.

The Cultural Bridging Host Project aims to help newcomers feel welcomed and embraced by the Victoria community. This project will help new immigrants and refugees adjust into our community by providing them with one on one support from their local peers.

By matching newcomers up with established community members we help bridge the gap between the cultures and provide the basis for fostering friendships, multi cultural understanding and networking opportunities. By providing this personal interaction we hope to create a better understanding between different cultures and create a support system for newcomers to help feel more welcome in our community.

We are running two programs: the Be-Friends Program which matches up young adults with their peers ages 19-30 and the Family Friendship Program that matches up parents of any age with other parents.
