Why?

Because everyone needs a friend!  By providing this personal interaction we hope to create a better understanding between different cultures and help immigrants in Canada feel more welcome in our community!! Join now!

Be-Friends Buddy Program (young adults ages 19-30) and the Family Friends Program (parents of any age!) is for:

  • Immigrants to Canada are matched with Canadian Host Volunteers depending on their age, interests, hobbies, and character!
  • Host volunteers get to meet someone from a different culture, background, and help newcomers feel at home in Canada!
  • Each pair agrees to meet once a week to do a common activity of their choice!
  • Program lasts 3 months
  • Group activities and workshops in topics such as: Canadian culture and values, Diversity in Canada, Health and Wellness, and cross-cultural communication skills
