VIRCS Hits the Road for Breast Cancer

If you are downtown on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, you may “run” into a group from VIRCS getting some fresh air and exercise. The VIRCS Running Club started in May 2007 with a few dedicated participants running once a week – it has now expanded to 8-9 regular members doing two workouts a week.

On September 30, the club debuted in its first race: the Run for the Cure  for breast cancer. Although the weather was chilly and rainy, our spirits were buoyed by the cheering crowd, live music, and good camaraderie. Keep an eye out for Team VIRCS at the finish line of the next race!
