English for Job Search Workshops
(or English Pronunciation and Intonation Workshops)
- Free
for immigrants or new Canadians who have difficulty in finding
or maintaining appropriate employment
- These workshops will assist
the participants to improve their English spoken fluency and clarity,
increase their familiarity with Canadian
workplace communication, gain confidence, and eventually increase
their employability.
- The workshops occur four times a year and
last for ten weeks. The participants meet for two hours in the
evening, three times a week.
- Workshops will be offered days or
evenings for each intake depending on the needs of potential participants.

Weekly Job Search Skills Workshops
These 2 hour workshops organized on every Friday morning focus
on labour market information, job search skills with typical topics
such as:
- Powerful Resumes that Work for You
- Job Interviews – Doing It Well!
- Effective Cover Letters
- Employer Visits
- Making Connections – Successful Networking, etc.
Employment Maintenance Workshops
A variety of workshops are provided to help new worker integrate
into the Canadian workforce. Typical workshop topics
include:
- Workplace Communication
- Conflict Management
- Handling Stress on the new job
- Norms in the Canadian Workplace
- Making Anger Work for You, etc.
Bi-monthly Workshops for Internationally
Trained Professionals
These workshops focus on unique needs of Professionals who received
their accreditations outside Canada.
